Corsican white that rocks

A really nice Corsican white, that. Vermentino is the grape, and I really like it. whether you are interested, the producer’s website is here.

Domaine Saparale 2006 Corse Sartene, France
From the island of Corsica, that is a varietal Vermentino from Philippe Farinelli’s 100 acre
estate. It’s vibrant, floral and minerally, but with a rounded weighty depth to the palate. I like the contrast amidst the steely, lemony notes and the richer, peachy, nearly nutty characters in the background. Mineralic, full flavoured and quite pure: a lovely wine. 91/100 (Yapp £8.95)
