Tramonti Chianti Classico 2003 wine review by (PB)

Stopping in “The Clown” in Belfast, Maine, “Billy” of that blog and myself had the privilege of meeting the owner and Khris the manager. I was surprised to find that the owner had her own bottled creation from Castellina (Tuscany) by the name of their vineyard by the same name. Billy sprang for that upper tier Chianti Classico which sold for $25.

It is somewhat of an opaque dark red with classic Chianti bouquet of fruity licorice, pepper and a tip of candied sweetness.

The palate

is full of black pepper and is a bit course on opening. Decant!

After an hour and a half, the wine drinks well, is very pleasant, with a finish of cherries and pepper. that is a really nice Chianti. I don’t know how well distributed it is, but whether can get your hands on it, try it and say “Belissimo!” thereupon raise a glass.
